Charlotte Church hacked during pregnancy

Welsh singer Charlotte Church believes that her phone was hacked during the early stages of her pregnancy as The Sun ran a story that she was pregnant before she could tell her parents about it.

Only her then partner Gavin Henson and doctor could possibly knew about her pregnancy but news broke, she said.

Church believes the only way journalists could be able to obtain information about her health condition was through hacking of her voicemail messages and of her doctor. Although, she admits she doesn’t have evidence for such allegations.

“I had not told anyone apart from when I had gone to have my initial scan,” she said.

She couldn’t believe other people could have known about it when in fact, it wasn’t in her best interest to publicize her pregnancy too early.

“I can’t see how it came from any other area. My family were really upset that I had not told them first,” she added.

Ms. Church remembers turning down an offer to sing for News Corp boss Rupert Murdoch at his wedding party.

Church then 13 didn’t take the $US100,000 and publicity offer.

“I remember being told that the offer of money or the offer of the favour, in order to basically get good press, to be looked upon favourably,” she said. “And I also remember being 13 and thinking, ‘why on earth would anybody take a favour over 100,000 (AU$156,560)?”

Earlier this year, Ms. Church was contacted by the police asking her confirmation of the details they recovered from private investigator Glenn Mulcaire’s notebook; these include passwords, PIN, and phone numbers relating to her and her family.
