A rights activist and Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman has draggedthe paramount ruler of an ancient town in Osun State, the Alawo of Awo, Oba Musa Olatunbosun Adebayo, Akinsilo II before the authority of the Nigeria Police Force, Zone IX, Osogbo over an alleged trespass into their family land and threat to the lives of the family members.

Meanwhile, the men of the Nigeria Police led by one “Adisa” have commenced the investigation into the issue in order to forstall any breaking down of law and order in the community, adding that the
Police authority had invited the concerned complainants in the matter to report at their Zonal office before this  week runs out.

The human rights activist who also alleged Oba Adebayo of threatening the lives of the members of his family by sending the group of thugs to invade their farmland for stopping the monarch’s illegal
encroachment of their family land located at “Egboo” area of the town, alleging Oba Adebayo of physically attacked one Adeniyi, Alimi Abubarkar and later sent message to the Elders of  the Abubakar ‘s family ,including, Mr. AbdulAzee Adesola, Mr. Dauda Yusuf(Baba Wale) and Alhaji Abdulkareem  and  at the  instance  of the town Chiefs where the monarch again restate his threaten position on the matter.

This was contained in a Petition Letter dated Monday 19th December, 2016  with the titled “ The Petition against Oba Musa Olatunbosun Adebayo, the Alawo of Awoland for threat of lives, stealing, willful and malicious damages “and signed by Comrade Sulaiman who doubles as Executive Chairman of CHRSJ, which a copy was made available to Journalists on Sunday,  urged the Police to conduct unbiased investigation into the matter so as to unravel the truth of the whole scenario, alleging that Oba Olatunbosun has been in this act of encroaching the farmland of the members of the community
with impunity for more than two (2) decades.

The Petition Letter read in part; “In November 2015, Oba Musa Olatunbosun Adebayo sent troops of hoodlums/thugs to the farmland of Adeniyi Alimi Abubakar’s late father, – i.e. Prince Adeniyi Alimi
Akanfe, which the petitioner/complainants informed the Awo Division of the Nigeria Police Force under the  D.P.O., Supol Niyi Lawal, a Deputy Superintended of Police(DSP) with phone number -08123823751, where the Police boss effected the arrest of one Mr. Ibraheem Mudazhiru, Mrs. Folakemi Akintola, Mr. Ayantoye Mose (a.ka. Tonado) and one woman called Iya-Elemu Iragberi.

“Again, in October 2016, the same Oba Musa Olatunbosun Adebayo still sent another troops of criminal Trespassers to these aforementioned complainants late father’s /husband farmlands in aforementioned place where the said criminals stole a lot of farm crops. When the meeting were held between the complainant’s family and Oba Musa Adebayo at the instance of Alawo-in-Council, where Oba Adebayo thrown the caution into the wind by starting another round of vitriolic attack and planning to unleash terror attack on Mr. Adeniyi Alimi Abubakar, as Vice-Chairman, Osun State Council of Obas before the sympathizers sneaked “Abubakar “out of the palace through back door. But all the conversation of the said meeting had been well recorded as the authentic evidence to prove the matter beyond reasonable doubt in any competent jurisdiction”.

The Petition letter therefore urged the Police authority to wade into the matter in accordance with the section 214 of the amended 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, saying that law was
not respecter of any individual and a stitch in time saves nine
