This is a must watch video for every American especially people who consider themselves Republicans.

(9 votes, average: 4.89/5)
This video has the Republicans described accurately, but it is a bit naive with regard to the Democrats. Though they have a tendency toward the vision portrayed here, Democrats come up far short. I think we should just let the Republicans fizzle out and concentrate on pressuring the Democrats to live up to their image.
Republicans , Corporations and Catholics are not people. Support OWS with money and actions , they are the only thing you have working for you. vote democratic for president , congress/ senate if you care to survive in your life.
Well said, Suddencall. I see and hear a lot of people calling for third party candidates to run against Obama and the democrats and I think something is wrong with them. That will only give republicans a pathway to the presidency and things will get so much worse. We all know what republicans are doing in all the states where they hold power and I don’t think anybody wants them to be able to do those things on a national level. At least, not the citizens of these republican states because they’re all crying and fighting tooth and nail to stop the madness.
Exacty. Far too many corporate Dems. There is a group working both inside and outside the Democratic party to push them to be the party of the working class again. Progressive Democrats of America http://www.pdamerica.org
When it comes time to throw the bumbs out — or at least the next time we the people are inspired to throw Democrat bumbs out — wouldn’t it be nice if there were an alternative to the Republicans? I mean, yes, the Democrat bumbs do bumble, and they can be remarkably obtuse, they can’t organize their way out of a paper bag, and they can become as corrupt as those other guys. So, yes, from time to time, they need to be thrown out. But if that means putting the Republicans in, giving them an even bigger pulpit, letting them tear down everything that is just and strong about our country — it’s like cutting off your nose, so to speak.
Of course, Citizens United is going to make this entire discussion moot. The sheeple are going to do what Karl Rove and the Koch brothers tell them to do in 2012, the Republicans are going to get power, and that will be the end of Medicare, universal health care, minimum wage, unions, women’s health, freedom of religion (other than their own brand of fundamentalist Christianity) and probably more US sovereign debt. The countries of the world will see our economy going downhill for everyone but the 1%, and decide they want to make the renminbi the basis of world currency and petroleum markets (and who could blame them). And it will be the end of the line for us poor deluded saps who think “the common good” means more citizens than just the 1%, as we slide into the standard of living of any number of third world nations.
Just sayin’
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. However, I do not believe the previous posters opinion that the Democrats just need to live up to their image. My main reasons against thinking that will WORK comes largely from the years working with Democrats as a progressive, and experiencing the subsequent hopelessness endemic in that exercise. But fundamentally, I don’t think that either Republicans OR Democrats are going to survive, at least as the whole of a two party system. At least that is what I HOPE happens. We are in the middle of a Revolution, whether people want to register that point or not! Ideally a REAL democracy, that actually works to produce democratic rights for all, needs to be multi-party. The two party duopoly we currently run our political life on is not conducive to DEMOCRACY! Actually the most democratic organizations are COALITIONS, not DUOPOLIES. However, the current laws are so divisive to anything BUT this duopoly, so the power of ANY other group is sidelined as a matter of course. I know that is not going to change soon. But I am starting NOW regardless of that. I was coerced to vote for Obama by the very argument that I would be handing the Presidency to someone as bad, or worse, than Bush if I voted for some third party in 2008. I bought that cool-aid and i am so sorry I did. (Because what we got from drinking the Obama cool-aid was actually much worse than Bush, because at least Bush did not LIE about what he was! That won’t happen again. I have already changed my registration to Green Party and I hope a whole lot more people join me, AS WE WORK ON GETTING RID OF THE LAWS AND GROUPS THAT WORK AGAINST US!
Since 1980 we borrowed 14,000 Billion. The Tax Book was Christmas Tree filled with goodies for the Rich and Corporations. It is a shame that they take more in Exemptions than they pay in taxes.
That is why OECD ranks Us:
#2 as Least Taxed–We pay 30% of GDP in fed—state–local taxes
#2 as Least Taxed Corporations–In 2011 They paid 1.5% of GDP in taxes
# 4 on Inequality–10% own almost 80% of our Wealth and take almost 50% of our individual income..80% get the crumbs
Suggestions:
1.Fed Fund election–6 months-3 primary- 3 general-free equal tv time-one debate a week=12-adequate to evaluate candidates no $$ no pacs
2.Members of Congress and White House can accept nothing with a financial value.
Keep them on the job not on the road
3.Progressive Flat Tax(by group)–tax to pay our way not leave for kids to pay
4.Burn Tax Book–gets enough added revenue to have a surplus to attack the debt
Yes! Simple. Yes Effective.
only bug I find is how to choose candidates.
I hate to admit it, but years ago I was a Republican. That was when the Republican Party was very different from the right wing, ultra conservative, party that it has become. However, when Ronald Reagan took office I saw a change, a change that has been rapidly moving to the far right. Looking back, Reagan was not as conservative as the group that call themselves Republicans today, but he was right wing enough to make me become a Democrat. Even H. W. Bush was not as conservative, or as right wing as the bunch of clowns who are running for the office of president in 2012. Barbara Bush believed in a woman’s right to choose, and said so, much to her husband’s dismay. Reagan and Bush 41 made a mess of our economy, but it was not as bad as Bush 43′s mess.
Clinton took office and rapidly learned that we were deeply mired in a morass which had been perpetrated by the two previous administrations and it took him two terms to get us on the right track. Then, in came G. W. Bush and in his eight years we were in two unbudgeted wars, tax cuts for the wealthy, in a time when we were in two wars, and we were told to “go shopping, ” after 9/11. We had a dimwit for president from 2000 until January of 2009. Republicans will deny it, but Obama was handed some that resembled what FDR faced in 1933.
It is going to take President Obama one more term, and then another two terms of another Democrat to straighten out the mess that was made by Bush 43. If anyone is fool enough to think that any of the clowns running for the office of president on the Republican ticket can help this country, they need to re read history.
Electoral politics (i.e. The two party system) end up keeping the 1% in control of an electoral system that controls, the three branches of government through their media, lobbyists, courts, police and when necessary armed thugs.
It is both parties that can take credit for:
46 million on food stamps.
15 million children in the United States – 21% of all children are below poverty level.
2.3 million in prison. China has 1.6 million.
700,00 are homeless in US.
24 corporate lobbyists for every congressman
300 former congressmen are now registered lobbyists
Deaths from Medical Errors In Hospitals at 195,000 per Year USA
USA falls to 47th place in Reporters Without Borders Freedom Index
Movements are the only force for significant change:
A brief look at US history shows that most progressive legislation passed as a result of active movements, independent of EITHER party.. The Eight hour day, the Child labor laws, the withdrawal from Vietnam, Civil rights legislation, Social Security, Gay rights etc. were passed because the 99% made their voices heard in the street, the factory. And other venues. Their influence is not heeded in the voting booth.
It should be obvious that today, all efforts should be directed to building and strengthening the Occupy Movement, and other independent movements and avoid the deadly trap of the two party system. The task for now, should be to help build these movements and not have it distracted ..by the chicanery of the two party system.

Totally Awesum display of facts….Thank You !!!!!
Guess what. Republicans know what they are.
Here is a confession from one of their own. This should be mandatory reading before you head out to vote.
I agree that the Republicans have, over the last 30+ years been more overtly hostile to the interests and needs of the 99%. However, the Democrats too have been corrupted with money and do not serve the interests of the 99%. The repeal of Glass/Steagall occurred during the Clinton administration and had the full support of Clinton. Obama too bailed out the Wall Street thieves. I have suggested to the Democratic leadership that their best slogan might be “We’re Not As Bad”; that is really the only argument they have. They only pay lip service to the interests and needs of the 99% while doing the bidding of the 1%. Some say that the Democrats really WANT to do more for the people but are constrained by the refusal of the Republicans to cooperate. I don’t buy that at all. I have yet to hear any meaningful attempt by Obama to actually DO things in the interest of the people, despite his periodic soaring rhetoric, especially now that we are in the election cycle. Yes, some argue that his health care plan is proof that he supports the people. I think that the main beneficiaries of his health care plan are the insurance thieves who are due to be given a huge amount of taxpayer money. In any event I am not aware of any other actions taken by Obama that can even be argued to be in the people’s interests. Like the Repuplicans he is engaged in waging senseless wars that appear to have no end, the destruction of our civil rights (you do know that Obama’s position is that he can murder anyone, including U.S. citizens, if he “determines” that that person is a “terrorist” or otherwise is acting against U.S. interests). I have not seen any results accomplished by recent Democratic administrations that are any better than the terrible results of the Republican administrations. Neither party acts in the interests of the people.
Neither party acts in the interest of the people. It is time for the people to wake up and forget about the party and vote for the person. We need to vote out the congressmen that are not doing the job that they were elected to do.
I have deplored the party system since middle school. I am in my mid – 50′s. There is no single politician in our modern times who truly hold our country’s interest over their own egos. I also find most journalists to continue to portray their own interpretation of facts as actual truth. I am neither a Democrat or a Republican and find this video rather skewed and naive.
