Hybrid forbearance

A very weak hope finally dangled for the end of though a sluggish, but still war in the east of Ukraine. In the area of Stanytsia Luhanska the forces of Ukrainian army and pro-Russian militants were separated. This happened on June 27-28. Yet on July 1, terrorists fired on an ambulance car of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which evacuated the injured. As a result, two Ukrainian soldiers were killed.

Again, this was neither a tank, nor an armored personnel carrier, nor even a military truck. That was the ambulance that drew the fire. Yes, that was Hummer, though with a huge red cross on the sides, without armament but with injured inside. However, this did not stop the insurgents. The car was blown up by manned anti-tank rocket. Again, it was not an occasional mine, it was shot purposefully. That is, the insurgents saw whom they were shooting at and perfectly understood the consequences.

You should refrain from taking heart and justify it as an accident or an oversight. Or suppose that the Russian command does not fully control the militant groups formed by it. Believe it, they know and oversee everything. Finally, the anti-tank missile, which destroyed the car, costs like a good passenger car and you can’t buy it every shop.

How comes it? That is simple. The Russian authorities and military leaders have developed such a worldview model that any concession is perceived as weakness. A weak opponent must be beaten further, until complete destruction. Or until the surrender.

You allowed return to PACE – get increased air raids and bomb attacks on the positions of the Syrian opposition in return. You agreed on separation of forces in Donbas – take a shelling of a medical car. That is an universal approach. The Russian establishment can not see it in another way.

President Putin and the Russian delegation were warmly greeted at the G-20. Well, it`s time to expect new provocations. And to fresh in mind how to save those poisoned with Novichok.
