Motorcycle ambulance for maternal health !

Please check out and share this short clip on a great innovation we’ve been working on to help reduce maternal death.

This new motorcycle ambulance was designed by WAHA to improve access to maternal health care services for women living in underserved regions and reduce maternal death. This motorcycle ambulance includes enough space for a health worker and caregiver to accompany the patient and ensures patient privacy. A first model of the motorcycle ambulance was pilot tested in Senegal in 2010. An upgraded design was finalized by WAHA in 2011 who then produced 100 new motorbike ambulances with the support of the Fistula Foundation. They are being deployed in Senegal, Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya.
