The State of Alaska is an experimental documentary exploring the fragile relationship of man and the
environment in a location that is blatantly showing the effects of climate crisis, land fragmentation, societal expansion and infringement upon native peoples. With the help of the Provost Award for Graduate Research through the University of IL, Chicago, Steve Zieverink traveled to Alaska in the Summer of 2009 to document the state of things related to people, the environment and progress traps.

The HD video is haunting and dichotomous as it shows vivid, breathtaking landscapes that are visibly and rapidly changing, and includes interviews with native peoples and scientists who see these changes everyday.
