President Donald Trump is meeting with, and apparently consulting with health insurance companies in fine tuning his replacement for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) aka Obamacare. The president recently met with health insurers and said a replacement plan would be unveiled soon. “We have a plan that I think is going to be fantastic.” the president said during the meeting. “It’s going to be released soon.” I think it’s going to be something special……I think you’re going to like what you hear.” the president concluded. Mr Trump also told the CEOs that he would blame them if the new plan fails to work as expected.
President Trump, who ran on the promise to repeal and replace Obamacare, which he said is too costly and complicated, is yet to get behind a GOP replacement plan a month after taking office. He however, said that he and his people have come up with a solution that’s really very good during a meeting with the nation’s governors at the White House, where he admitted that health care is an “unbelievably complex subject.” “Nobody knew that health care could be so complicated.” he added.
However, the fact that President Trump is apparently consulting with health insurers in his plans for a replacement for the Affordable Care Act is a huge concern for many of his critics and supporters alike. Many of them had hoped that the president would cut off the insurers, who they see as just middlemen who complicate the health system with their profit motive, and produce a single payer health care system that will solve all of the country’s health care problems.
President Trump is expected to touch in the issue of healthcare when he addresses a joint section of Congress for the first time on Tuesday evening.
