‘I didn’t need to do this’. How Donald Trump may have sabotaged himself over national emergency

whether US President Donald Trump was justified in calling a national emergency or not has been a heated debate.

but Trump has ended the debate quickly by publicly admitting it was not necessary.

“I didn’t need to do this,” Trump said to reporters earlier before signing a proclamation to declare a state of emergency.

he was replying to a question from NBC’s Peter Alexander, who said that Trump criticized former US President Barack Obama for using special orders for the immigration agenda in 2014.

“I could do the wall over a longer period of time,” Mr Trump said in response. “I didn’t need to do this, but I’d rather do it much faster.”

According to USA Today, legal proceedings have already been filed in response to the declaration by two separate watchdog groups.
